This article is about the Type 100 Space Reconnaissance Plane from Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and its sequels. For its counterpart in the original Space Battleship Yamato, see Type 100 Recon Plane

The Type 100 Space Reconnaissance Plane , also nicknamed Type 100 Sky Scout, is a VTOL RECCE space plane used by various branches of the United Nations Joint Forces.

Technical Specifications[]

The Type-100 can carry out a wide range of activities with the various sensors stored in the two bulges in the rear of the upper surface of the fuselage and the large radar dome equipped on the underside of the fuselage. In addition, the lower part of the fuselage is equipped with a manipulator and a multi-purpose storage.[2] It has foldable wings and a doubled wheeled nose gear, the main landing gear is angled halfway to the side.[3] The craft is also equipped with a AI navigation assistant.[4] Usually it is manned by a crew of two, but can accommodate three if needed.[2][5]

History[]

The Type-100 was developed by the United Nations Ground Force as a militarised version of the SR 91 Planetary Explorer developed by the United Nations Space Agency. During the Great Garmillas War both the Ground Force and Far East Front Aerospace Battlegroup used the RECCE, the Type-100 was most notably used during Operation M and the first attack on Yamato, two planes of the type were installed aboard Yamato during the battleship journey towards Iscandar.[2][6]

By December 2202 at least one Type-100 with a unique blue and white paintjob, was owned by Nanbu Express. the plane was used by Lt Susumu Kodai to sneak in the Garmillas Embassy on the Moon.[7][8]
