Plot
In the year 2199, Earth has been reduced to a radioactive desert wasteland. Constant attacks aliens belonging to the planet Gamilus have forced the remaining population underground, but then a friendly alien race from the planet Iscandar decides to help the humans by giving them blueprints for a powerful space battleship capable of cleaning the planet before all is lost.
The United Nations Cosmo Navy - whose space fleets have been decimated by Gamilas forces - resurrects the long-sunken battleship Yamato and applies the blueprint to transform it into the vessel known as Space Battleship Yamato.
